Apni Party urges authorities to supply wood to Wular Lake fishermen community for boat repairs

Demands proper arrangements for water supply in Langate and surrounding areas

Srinagar, July 26: Apni Party's State Secretary and Chief Spokesperson, Muntazir Mohiuddin, on Friday, called on the State Forest Corporation (SFC) to supply wood to the fishermen community in Watlab Sopore for repairing their boats, which have suffered damage over the years. He also urged the administration to ensure adequate drinking water supply arrangements in Langate and the surrounding areas.

In his statement, Muntazir said, “The fishermen of Watlab Sopore, who ply their boats on Wular Lake, are struggling to obtain wood from the SFC to repair their damaged vessels. Despite their efforts, the authorities have not provided the required wood. I respectfully request the concerned officials to address this issue and ensure that these fishermen, whose livelihood depends on fishing, receive the wood required for repairs. Many of these fishermen are from Zurimanz village, and since fishing is their sole source of income, repairing their boats is of utmost importance.”

Highlighting the hardships caused by the lack of water resources in Langate and neighboring areas, Muntazir Mohiuddin called on the administration to take necessary measures to ensure a reliable supply of water for both drinking and irrigation in these areas.
