PDP Delegation Visits Fire Victim families in Baramulla


Srinagar Dec 4 (RNA): A delegation of Jk Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headed by District President Jalal ud Din Shah and accompanied by Additional Spokesperson Mohd Rafique Rather, Mir Intikhab, G.M. Dar block Secretary and youth leader Arif Maqbool wani today visited Chorimar Pora Kainlibagh to meet the families who lost their shelters in devastating fire last night. The delegation took stock of the on ground situation and found that the five familes namely Fayaz Ahmad sheikh with seven family members, farooq Ahmad Sheikh with five family members,Bilal Ahmad sheikh with 5 family members, Umer Farooq with 4 family members have completely lost their residential houses along with belongings and had nothing left. In addition a big joinery mill which would provide jobs to tens of people is completely destroyed with all machinery and necessary equipment. Delegation found that there was a delay by the fire service department in dousing the fire because of reportedly unavailability of water. However the delegation was appraised that locals of the area tried every thing at their disposal to save affected families from any human loss. On the occasion Rafique Rather while speaking to the press people present their urged government to provide adequate relief to affected families. He said that since harsh winter has started and it is very difficult for affected families to live without proper shelter. Rather urged upon district administration to shift these families to government accommodation and provide free food, warm clothing, blankets and other necessary domestic items so that affected families may not suffer any more. District president Jalal ud Din Shah extended solidarity to affected families and said conveyed sympathies on behalf of Party president Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba.
