No alternative to elected Govt in J&K: Faqir Nath
Says public suffering because of unilateral decisions of bureaucracy

UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 05, 2023 (RNA) : - Asserting that there is no alternative to an elected Govt in J&K, the Apni Party on Tuesday demanded holding of Assembly Elections to address the growing concerns of the people regarding unemployment, underdevelopment, and grab of natural resources by the outsiders.
The Apni Party meeting was organized by Youth Wing District President Udhampur, Ajit Sharma. The meeting was chaired by Senior Provincial Vice President Jammu, Ex-MLA Faqir Nath.
During the meeting, the participants discussed developmental issues, poor basic amenities in Udhampur town, and villages, issues of clean drinking water, worsening condition of health and educational sector etc.
While addressing the meeting, the Senior Provincial Vice President Ex-MLA Faqir Nath expressed serious concern over the emerging situation in the district where the development has taken a back seat and rural livelihood has suffered setback with poor efforts to uplift the living standard of the people.
“In last several years, the LG administration has failed to come up to the expectations of the people, and the public representatives have been sidelined by the bureaucracy who unilaterally take decisions,” he said.
He said that the Udhampur town, and the rural belt has suffered badly regarding educational, health, and tourism sectors.
“The administration seems to have been working without a proper road map,” he said, and questioned the Municipal Corporation and under-developed Jammu-Srinagar that passes through Udhampur town.
He said that all the growing issues in J&K can be resolved with the holding of Assembly Elections.
“An elected Govt is answerable to the people, but administration is not. The administration has lost its connection with the people that has led to mistrust among the two, and many fold issues,” he added.
Besides Apni Party, District President Udhampur, Hans Raj Dogra also informed about the party’s door to door campaign and working of the party cadre.
Another participant in the meeting, Apni Party Provincial Vice President Jammu, Shafi Sheikh also referred to the poor road connectivity in rural areas of Udhampur that affects normal life.
Meanwhile, Apni Party Youth Wing Vice President J&K and Spokesperson, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan raised the issue of increasing unemployment that has given rise to multiple issues.
He demanded that the Govt should fill-up all the vacant posts in different Govt departments.
On the other hand, Apni Party Youth Wing, Provincial President, Jammu, Vipul Bali said that “The unemployment has increased but the LG administration has failed to address the issues by holding fair selection process on the vacant posts. Therefore, the youth should come forward and join the Apni Party to get their issues redressed.”
Prominent among those who attended the meeting include District Vice President, Haji Noor Mohammed, District Vice President, Kewal Krishan Commondoo, District General Secretary, Sat Pal Chalotra, District Apni Trade Union, President, Vijay Sharma, District OBC President, Darampal Verma, Aadil Shaw, Mehran Chandel, Dheeraj Jung, Imran and others.
