Srinagar, Oct 22 (RNA): Amid rumors of discord in J&K Congress, the party leaders and workers have strongly criticized Party’s Vice President Ghulam Nabi Monga for allegedly sowing the “seeds of disquiet” within the ranks at a crucial juncture when party is rebuilding its image in the state. A senior leader told RNA that after a long time, the Party has won all seats, it contested from independently , in the valley despite political uncertainty. He said voters of the valley have reposed trust in Tariq Hameed Karra’s leadership who took over, just on the day when elections were announced.
“You have a leader who takes over the reins exactly the day elections were announced and then ends up winning all seats we fought from the valley. what else can you expect from the leadership.?” a senior leader of the party told RNA wishing not to be named. Another leader while criticizing the role of dissenters told RNA that this is a handful of the so-called leaders who have never won any election despite being in a party for three to four decades, therefore should not be taken seriously.
“This is a group of few people who have never won an election. One has become MLC by the mercy of former president and has never actually won an election. The only time he fought an assembly election ended up getting just around 400 votes. How can such people be taken seriously. At least I don’t.” a senior leader and former legislator told RNA.
Meanwhile workers have also vowed strong support to Tariq karra and said that those who go to press to spread rumors must know that they have never been even sarpunch, leaving aside MLAs or popular leaders, and such people cannot dictate the party course.
They have appealed to Party high command to take strict action against those who are nowhere close to being called ‘popular leaders’ for bringing disrepute the party and its leadership.
