Health Deptt Baramulla, J&K AIDS Control Society organize Comprehensive Health Camp in Sopore


 BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 17: An Integrated Health Camp was conducted today at Village Seelu in the medical block of Sopore by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir AIDS Control Society under the Intensified IEC (Information, Education and Communication) campaign.

 
The camp was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina, alongside Dr. Abdul Rouf, Project Director, AIDS.
 
The camp saw an impressive footfall of 1,122 people, of which 630 individuals were screened for various communicable diseases, including Hepatitis, HIV and Tuberculosis. 
 
The health camp aimed to raise awareness about the prevention and control of these diseases, with health experts conducting informative sessions for the attendees.
 
In addition to screenings, the camp also provided consultations with specialist doctors, ensuring a wide range of medical services was available. Free medicines were distributed to those in need, further contributing to the camp’s outreach and support for the local population.
 
This initiative underscores the ongoing efforts of the health department in Baramulla to improve public health awareness and provide essential healthcare services to underserved communities. 
 
The collaboration with the J&K AIDS Control Society highlights the importance of continuous education and proactive health measures in fighting communicable diseases across the region.
 
Dr. Monika Wali, Head of the IEC Division, J&K and Ladakh; Dr. Bhajan Kour, District Health Officer (DHO); Dr. Zulfiqar, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Sopore and other health officers and officials of the district were present at the event.
