MP Er Rashid Conducts Day-Long Visit to Sopore, Engages with Lawyers, visits Fruit Mandi Sopore, met Fruit Industry Representatives, Visits Sub-District Hospital Sopore

Sopore, October 16: AIP President and MP Baramulla Er Rashid carried out a comprehensive day-long visit to Sopore, addressing critical issues affecting various sectors. He met with the Bar Association Sopore, the Kashmir Fruit Growers and Dealers Association, the Kashmir Valley Fruit Buyers and Forwarding Agents Union and visited the Sub-District Hospital Sopore to review healthcare services.
During his meeting with the Bar Association at Sopore Court Premises, Er Rashid expressed his gratitude and commitment to the legal community, emphasizing his responsibility to all, irrespective of political affiliations. "Once we take an oath, politics should be left aside. I promise to work around the clock, to be available both in person and by phone when anyone needs me. I understand the importance of being present in times of need, and I will always stand up for the legitimate rights of the people," Er Rashid said.
He also called on lawyers to take on free-of-cost cases for those who are financially disadvantaged. "I urge the legal community to support the poor by handling their cases without charging them, ensuring that justice is accessible to everyone, regardless of financial status."
To support the Bar Association, Er Rashid announced the allocation of ?10 lakh from his MPLAD fund this year and pledged an additional ?10 lakh next year. This funding will be used to improve the bar room, washroom and other facilities. Er Rashid also committed to taking up these concerns with the Law Secretary to ensure that the Bar Association’s needs are fully addressed.
Later Er Rashid visited Sopore Mandi and had meetings with stakeholders of fruit industry, which has faced significant challenges in recent years. "The fruit industry is one of the backbones of our economy, and it needs immediate attention. I promise to stand with the fruit growers and dealers and I will be a strong voice advocating for the resolution of their legitimate concerns." He urged the community to preserve agricultural and orchard lands, warning that continued conversion of these lands into concrete structures could spell disaster for Kashmir’s agricultural future. "We need to campaign against this trend, as it threatens the future of our children and the region’s economy."
During his visit to the Sub-District Hospital Sopore, Er Rashid addressed several healthcare challenges. He resolved the need for radiologist by speaking to Director Health Services Kashmir who assured posting of radiologist on priority, to ensure that ultrasound services are available round the clock. Additionally, he announced that the Health Center in Tujjar Sharief will be made operational 24x7, ensuring uninterrupted medical services in the area. Authorities in Health Service assured that Rajpore and Rampur will have a gynaecology doctor twice a week .
AIP Spokesperson for North Kashmir Adv Shahnawaz Abdullah said that Er Rashid's engagements throughout the day reflect his commitment to tackling the most pressing issues in Sopore. "Whether it is the legal sector, the fruit industry or healthcare, Er Rasheed will stand by the people of Kashmir in general and Sopore in particular and ensure that their voices are heard and their needs are met,"
