DEO unveils Polling Station with Traditional setup at LOC to foster Community Connection

POONCH, SEPTEMBER 24: To ensure a seamless electoral process, District Election Officer (DEO) Vikas Kundal paid a surprise visit to the unique polling station established at Primary School Noorkote, located beyond the Line of Control (LOC) fence in the Haveli constituency.

The on-spot assessment focused on the arrangements made for the polling party and the deployment of security personnel to maintain order on the Election Day.

Marking an innovative approach to voter engagement, the district election authority has set up a polling station designed to evoke the charm and simplicity of rural life. Adorned with traditional items like a Cart, utensils, and daily-use objects, this polling station immerses voters in the essence of village culture, showcasing the struggles and resilience of rural communities.

Expressing enthusiasm for such initiatives, the DEO stated, "In addition to the Pink polling stations managed entirely by women staff, we have introduced Green polling stations to promote environmental awareness. Our traditional-look polling station is equipped with all necessary arrangements for both the polling parties and the voters. It serves as a reminder of our rural heritage and lifestyle, making the voting experience more relatable and engaging for our voters."

This forward-thinking approach has successfully captured the attention of villagers and common voters, enhancing the overall electoral experience and ensuring that the elections resonate deeply with the community's cultural identity.
