Block Diwas: DC Kulgam chairs Public Darbar at D. H. Pora

Gives patient hearing to issues & demands of people, instructs Executing Agencies to ensure timely completion of developmental projects


 KULGAM, JULY 24: As part of the government’s ambitious weekly Block Diwas programme and with an aim to strengthen the grievances redressal mechanism in the district, the District Administration Kulgam today organized public outreach programmes in three blocks of the district viz. D.H Pora, Kulgam and Devsar to take appraisal of the public issues, grievances and demands.

 
To take firsthand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan presided over a public darbar at D.H Pora.
 
The grievance redressal programme witnessed participation of people from Hallan, Ahmadabad, Tangmarg, D.H.Pora, Nagam and other areas of the Block D.H Pora.
 
The visiting delegations and individuals flagged-off various demands including establishment of bank branch at Ahmadabad, construction of bypass at D.H.Pora, Augmentation of staff at Hospitals, repairs and proper restoration of Aharbal irrigation canal, repairs of Chimmer D.H.Pora road besides other developmental issues and demands.
 
Officers and heads of departments responded to the queries and grievances of the people pertaining to their departments. They also informed them about various welfare schemes and ongoing developmental projects.
 
The DC after giving patient hearing to the public addressed some of the immediate nature of grievances on the spot.
 
He also instructed officers of executing agencies to ensure timely completion of developmental projects in the area.
 
Meanwhile, the officers of District Administration also held outreach programmes at Devsar and Kulgam and listened to the issues and grievances of people assuring time bound redressal.
