Sheep Husbandry Department Baramulla Holds Free Medical Camp at Lien Marg, Gulmarg


 Gulmarg, 18 July (RNA) : An animal health camp was held today at the highland pastures of Liienmarg/Asha, organized by the Sheep Husbandry Department of Baramulla. The event saw participation from Chopans, Bakarwals, and Gujjars, who rear livestock in areas such as Nowbalan, Lienmarg, Mazdooni, Gagri, and Bhutapathri. 

 
Dr. Showkat Ahanger, the District Sheep Husbandry Officer Baramulla, presided over the program and engaged in one-on-one interactions with the Chopans and Bakarwals. He assured the attendees of his office's dedication to providing services to livestock rearers in even the most remote regions. Dr. Ishfaq Dhobi, VAS Shrakwara, emphasized the various services offered by the department, particularly the government's commitment to achieving mutton sufficiency and generating employment through the HADP scheme. Additionally, Dr. Rayees, VAS Kholina, educated participants on preventing various diseases prevalent in highland areas.
 
As part of the camp, free medicine under the NADCP program was distributed to the participants. The attendees expressed their gratitude to the Sheep Husbandry Department for conducting the health camp in such challenging terrains and acknowledged the department's valuable services especially the service the of Bhutapathri Sheep Camp.
