Jammu, 28th June (RNA) : A three day workshop on Revitalizing Morning Assembly w.e.f. 26th to 28th June concluded today at SCERT J&K, Divisional Office Jammu .
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director JKSCERT in the presence of Sh. Parshotam Kumar, Director Planning and Stastics J&K. This programme was organized by Department of Teacher Education (Academic Unit-II) SCERT-J&K Jammu under the mentorship of Prof. (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director JKSCERT Divisional office Jammu and able guidance and supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, JKSCERT Divisional Office Jammu.
The valedictory programme was graced by DSEJ, Sh. Ashok Sharma Ji, whereas Prof. Dr. J. N. Baliya, Prof. Department of Education studies Central university of Jammu was the Guest of Honor
Welcome address was given by Lakshmi Puri, Faculty, JKSCERT Jammu.
In this programme, 30 participants were invited from 10 districts of Jammu Division.
The aim and objective of this programme was to orient the Physical Education Teachers (PETs) from different schools across Jammu Division about the need for reviving Morning assembly Practices for effective student engagement and overall well-being and to rejuvenate the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) as per NEP 2020. A vision document on Morning assembly an important part of pedagogy will be released in due course of time after incorporating the suggestions from the participants and stakeholders in accordance with the guidelines of School Education Department under the able mentorship of Smt. Arti Gupta, Head Department of Teacher Education, AU-II, JKSCERT Jammu
The Resource Persons namely Dr. Mohini Sharma, Naturopath and Head Ladies Wing and State Executive Committee Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, Mr. Navneet Gupta, A.O., Mr. Arun Ambardar, Academic Director, Playway House HSS Pounichuk, Ms. Abha Verma, Sr. A.O., Ms. Kamini Verma , A.O., Dr. Sandarve, A.O., Dr. Jyoti Sudan, A.O., Lakshmi Puri, Teacher, JKSCERT Jammu oriented the participants about different ways and means for revitalizing Morning Assemblies in Schools in accordance with the guidelines issued by worthy Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir. In addition to this, they deliberated interactive and engaging sessions on development of Indian Values, patriotism, ethics, sense of leadership, discipline, listening abilities amongst children.
The training programme was coordinated by Ms. Seema Mattoo Koul, A.O. She was assisted by Ms. Kavya Sharm, A.O, Mr. Deepak Kumar was the Technical Coordinator. The organizing team included Kamini Verma, A.O, Dr. Sandarve, A.O., Abha Verma, Sr. A.O., Amit Sharma, A.O., Sunita Sharma, A.O, Neeraj Jamwal, A.O. A comprehensive documentary of the three-day workshop on revitalizing morning assembly was prepared by Lakshmi Puri.
Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor greeted the Chief Guest and Guest of honour and briefed them about the vision of revitalizing morning assemblies in the present circumstances in view of NEP 2020. Worthy Director School Education Sh. Ashok Kumar Sharma enlightened the participants with his words of wisdom. He impressed upon all the PETs present to bring vitality and geniuness into the morning assemblies and enable physical, moral and mental developments of the students. Prof. J.N.Baliya addressed the gathering with his valuable suggestions and inputs and experienced approach. Kavya Sharma A.O., highlighted theme of the workshop and Ms.Seema Mattoo Koul, Coordinator, presented a brief report of the workshop and the recommendations were shared with the participants as per the suggestions by the participants and in accordance with the guidelines issued by worthy Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir. Sh. Swaran Singh Jaral ,Professor, Dr. Sanjeevani Sharma ,Assistant Professor were also present on the occasion. Vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Abha Verma (Sr. A.O.)
