Dir Horticulture takes stock of departmental nurseries in Anantnag


SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 23 (RNA) : Director Horticulture Kashmir G. R. Mir today visited district Anantnag to take stock of the ongoing work at two departmental nurseries at Katertang in zone Bijbehara and Panzmula in zone khowerpora. In katertaing nursery, Horticulture Department is going to establish a root stock bank and fruit plant nursery to cater the demand of the public in establishing orchards with diversified fruit cultivars. In Panzmula nursery, department is going to establish post entry quarantine facility to facilitate the better plant material. During the visit, Director took the stock of various preparations and activities like development of land, creation of water resources and distribution of irrigation etc. He emphasized that the work must be completed in twenty days of period. He was accompanied by Joint Director Horticulture Z. A. Bhat, Senior Technical Officer, DLSMS Anantnag, HDOs and other field functionaries. NO: PR/DDI/SGR/23/3827/ ADDC Bandipora visits Special Booth Camps in district BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 23: Following the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, ADDC Bandipora, Ali Afsar Khan Saturday conducted an inspection of several Panchayats designated for special booth camps in lieu of the preparation of second supplementary panchayat electoral roll. The ADDC visited different panchayats including Naidkhai, Nowgam, Hajin, Ganasthan besides panchayats in Sumbal block. Other senior officers of district administration including Nodal Officer Coordination Mohammad Ashraf Hakak and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bandipora Shabir Ahmad also visited different designated panchayats in the district. The special booth camps have been established to address any discrepancies and omissions in the electoral roll and to provide people with a hassle-free opportunity to register themselves for the upcoming Panchayat elections. ADDC said that the administration encourages all eligible residents of Naidkhai, Nowgam, Hajin, Ganasthan, and Sumbal Blocks to visit their nearest special booth camp and verify their electoral details or register themselves if they have not already done so.
