DC Doda distributes Nikshay Poshan baskets among adopted TB Patients


DODA, SEPTEMBER 14 (RNA) : Nikshay Poshan Yojna ia an incentive scheme under National Health Mission (NHM) by Central TB Division of MoHFW for Tuberculosis (TB) patients who are under treatment and have registered / notified themselves on the NIKSHAY portal. The incentives can be distributed in cash (only via DBT preferably through Aadhaar enabled bank accounts) or in kind. From the very beginning of assuming the Charge, Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan is proactive in providing the best health care to the people of the district and in elimination of deadly diseases like Tuberculosis from the district. He frequently reviews the development and achievements under NTEP and sets new targets to curb and eliminate the TB from this district. Mahajan has geared all his manpower to eliminate the TB from the district by the end of year 2023. Recently, the Deputy Commissioner distributed 5 Nikshay Poshan baskets among his adopted TB patients as Nikshay Mitra in the district. Nikshay Mitra (Volunteer) provides nutritional baskets to TB patients (up-to Rs 500/) per month per patient up to completion of the treatment. He started Poshan baskets of these new patients after completing nutritional care of the old 5 adopted patients for 6 months. DC Doda has been highly appreciated by the NHM J&K for his tireless efforts in bringing down the infection rate and extending all kinds of support to the health team in eradicating the disease from the district. He has also been served a certificate of appreciation by the Central TB Division of MoHFW Government of Bharat for his exemplary support and guidance in combating the disease. NO: PR/DDI/J-3159// DC Doda takes action to optimize school staffing Asks for immediate adjustment of newly appointed contractual lecturers to overcome the shortage DODA, SEPTEMBER 14: Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan convened a meeting to address pressing issues faced by the Educational Institutions. The meeting primarily focused on the efficient utilization of teaching staff in schools, student's aspirations, staff rationalization, and the punctuality of teaching personnel. One of the key concerns discussed was the presence of an excessive number of teachers in certain town centric schools. During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Mahajan directed the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Doda to promptly reassign recently appointed 134 contractual lecturers to schools where their services are urgently needed, and simultaneously remove surplus teaching staff from those schools. This move is aimed at optimizing the deployment of teaching resources to better serve the students. Additionally, the meeting delved into the issue of E-Kaksha online services for students, especially those residing in remote areas with limited access to subject teachers. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the Principal of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Doda to ensure the continued operation of E-Kaksha labs, catering to students facing challenges in accessing subject-specific teachers. Deputy Commissioner Mahajan expressed his discontent over recent remarks made by a teacher and instructed the concerned Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) to assign punitive duties in far-flung areas as a consequence of his misconduct. Furthermore, a thorough discussion regarding the surplus teaching staff in various schools ensued, prompting the Deputy Commissioner to call for swift action against excess teachers in schools with a low student enrollment. The DC Doda also directed to the CEO Doda, to make immediate adjustment of the recently appointed contractual lecturers in different schools to compensate the shortage of subjects teaching staff and make rationalization of the excessive teaching staff The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of rationalizing teaching staff not for transfers or promotions but as a crucial step in ensuring the effective functioning of schools. He stressed that the ultimate goal is to provide a seamless and high-quality education to students across the district, especially in remote areas. In conclusion, Deputy Commissioner Mahajan urged ZEOs and principals to prioritize the welfare of schools and students, maintaining a strict focus on their educational mission and discouraging teaching staff from engaging in non-teaching administrative duties. The DC also directed to the principals that the syllabus of all schools across the district should be completed, including all assignments and revision up to the 30 of the November The meeting was attended by ADDC Doda, ADC Doda, CEO Doda, principal DIET Doda, ZEOs and Principals of all the Government Higher Secondary Schools.
