8 months on, MDM amount not released to schools,MDM incharge teachers facing hardship to arrange the material

Jammu/Srinagar, Aug 8 (RNA) : Jkammu and Kashmir rehabar-e-taleem( JKRETTF) teachers forum has demanded the immediate release of balance amount of amount of MDM ingredients and fuel charges for the smooth functioning of the scheme in schools as the shopkeepers are denying to teachers to provide the material till the clearance of pending outstanding eight months amount. According to a statement issued here by the forum spokesman MA Wani reads that forum chairman Farooq Ahmed Tantray has demanded the immediate release of pending amount of MDM ingredients and fuel charges to run the scheme smoothly. He said that shopkeepers are demanding the seven to eight months balance amount to teachers and are not providing the materials till the clearance of outstanding amount. He said that the incharge MDM teachers and heads of the schools are in mental trauma to run the scheme smoothly. He said that being a representative of the community they are receiving dozens of calls on daily basis from MDM incharge teachers of JkUT to highlight the issue before the authorities, he further said that despite of repeated requested from different corners the balance amount is still not released by the SAMAGRA. Forum chairman said that if the due amount is not released soon, it is not only difficult but impossible for teachers to run the scheme and provide MDM to students in schools. He further said from last seven to eight months no amount has been released for MDM to schools and it is very difficult for the teachers to manage the same. He appealed UT administration, higher authorities of education department and director SAMAGRA to intervene in this regard so the MDM incharge teachers can take a sigh of relief from shopkeepers. He further demanded the exemption of teaching staff from MDM assignments so that they can give focus on the teaching and it may kindly be given to the contractor or any other agency for the samooh functioning of teaching and running of MDM in schools.
